The Basement

"Damn it! I should have known," Luke groaned as soon as we reached our grand destination.

"What is it?" I asked. Luke had been talking about 'The Basement' incessantly for weeks now; about how popular it was, the cool design, the gorgeous women he had met there (to Marly's chagrin). What could have let him down? I tried to peer around the back of the back of the line we just joined. It was dark and I couldn't see very much of it.

"The line is huge," my older sister Marly explained. "It'll take us hours just to get to the door."

"Couldn't we just go to another club?" I asked.

I was panting, clutching a stitch at my side. The others weren't fairing much better either, especially the younger ones. We don't usually run such long distances, seeing as flying is a lot more convenient. However, in the middle of suburbia whipping out our wings was out of the question.

"We - need - to - rest," I said between gasps.

"This isn't the best place to do it," Fang wheezed next to me.

He was right. We had stopped on a giant field with very few trees, not many people and only one building; an austere church. We were sitting ducks.

I could hear the distant wail of police cars. Staying here wasn't an option

Noticeably inspired by the Beatles' stylistic album cover Abbey Road. I haven't listened to it although I probably do unknowingly know their songs. I almost used the same walking poses but I didn't wanna get sued

My music teacher would probably be appalled by the music I have briefly written and the lack of music theory in it. Oh well.

Done using the pentool in Adobe Illustrator
